Flower/fruit: 1 inch flower has five lilac, pink or white petals white point backward; stamens form a beak-like cone in the center; flowers are arranged in an umbel and nod from the end of a leafless flower stalk 8 to 20 inches tall
Flowering Season: Spring
Foliage: Basal cluster of narrowly elliptic to top-shaped leaves, 3 to 10 inches long; leaf bases often marked with red
Site: Partial shade; rich, moist wood, meadows, cliffs
