- Violets are delicate favorites in spring. Many species,
hybrids and cultivars exist, including Pansy and Johnny-jump-up. Viola
labradorica is native to cold northern areas, but it grows surprisingly
well in the south, with deep purplish green leaves and lavender colored
flowers.
