Strawberry geranium is also called "Mother of Thousands" because of its spread by thread-like red stolons, at the tips of which new plantlets are produced. It makes a lovely ground cover in the warmer Piedmont and coastal plain, with heart shaped green leaves with distinctive white veins above, and attractive red beneath.
