Inflorescence: Loosely feathered subtly purplish inflorescence appear in early summer; become narrow, vertical, buff colored plumes by late summer; remains attractive most of the winter; good for fresh or dry arrangements
Comments: Slender wiry leaves; sometimes referred to as C. x acutiflora 'Stricta'; deep green lustrous foliage; rapid growth; no appreciable fall color; good container plant; does not produce viable seeds - will not become invasive
Cultivars: Overdam: ( variegated feather reed grass) 5'; cream white longitudinally striped leaves; less robust then Karl Forester; may suffer in hot, dry weather
