- Deciduous to seme-evergreen shrub to small tree, growing to 25 feet in height; leaves elongate elliptical; flowers in June and July, fragrant, creamy white, in elongate finger-like clusters; fruits maturing in late summer, tiny round brown capsules in drooping clusters.
