Fronds:
Circular cluster of arching
fronds; sterile fronds are lanceolate, pinnate-pinnatified with
dense rusty hairs beneath base of each pinna; pinna are narrow,
lance shaped, pointed, deeply cut and nearly opposite; bright cinnamon
colored fertile fronds, produced in late spring and die by mid-summer
Comments:
Compact, horizontal
rhizome; easy to grow; vigorous; prefers moist to wet soil in sun
or shade; may go dormant with dry soil; slow to establish but long
lived
