Extension 4-H Specialist

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Responsible for overall management and operations of North Carolina 4-H Camps and Centers
• Arrange and conduct monthly meetings of ECOT (Educational Centers Operations Team)
• Ensure Summer 4-H camping programs are professionally staffed, organized and evaluated
• Assume fiscal responsibility in total center and camp operations
• Assure sufficient enrollment in summer 4-H camps and by off-season user groups
• Meet with and advise Center advisory committees to ensure that near and long range goals are set and implemented
• Work with Center Directors, Advisory committees and the 4-H Development Fund staff for resource development at each 4-H camp and center
• Give administrative oversite to all capital improvements and repair and renovation projects at the 4-H camps and centers
• Provide departmental level liaison with American Camping Association adn other necessary agencies for overall operations of camps and centers

• BS, Recreation Resource Administration, NC State University
• MS, Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Management, NC State University

• Board of Directors, National IFYE Foundation, 1999-2001
• Board Member, American Camping Association, SE Section, 1995-96
• International Division, National 4-H Council, 1975-79
