When
you think about learning, do you picture students in rows of desks
and a teacher lecturing at the front of the room? This is a traditional
model for teaching and learning. However, other techniques and models
may add extra spice to the learning experience. By directing participants
to perform an activity, then discuss what they’ve done and
reflect on how the activity could apply to other aspects of their
lives, you can involve the learner in discovery learning. This is
the experiential learning model. Though it requires extra planning
and preparation, learners benefit more.
