In
this section of TRY-IT!, you’ll explore your personal learning
style and develop teaching strategies that will help you more effectively
teach younger youth. The materials in these modules will help you
and your team members design great learning experiences for others.
Think of learning
as a system.
Many individual parts that are interrelated comprise a system. A
good example is the human body. The human body contains many systems,
for example, the circulatory system. This system is made up of many
individual parts, including the heart, lungs, arteries, and veins.
These components help circulate blood required to nourish cells
and keep the body fuctioning. If any part of the system malfunctions,
the entire system breaks down.
Similarly, a
learning system is dependent upon four independent but interconnected
components. The components include the learner, the content, the
context, and the teacher. If one component isn't working properly,
the system breaks down. Let’s look at the individual components
of the system. |
