T.E.A.M.
Together, Each Accomplishes More!

Take the time to work through the following three exercises designed to help you build on your knowledge of the role of teams in your life. When possible, you may want to do your work online and then print it. Or, you may choose to print each worksheet and then complete it by hand. Whatever your choice, once you’ve finished each exercise remember to print a copy of your work for your TRY-IT Personal Leadership Portfolio.

Have fun!

Prior Life Experiences Exercise 1:
Roles on a National Leadership Team
Find a photograph of the current President of the United States and his Cabinet. (You may want to search on the Web and print a photo, or look in national news magazines.) Save your photo to a new file and print it, or glue/tape it to a sheet of paper. Be certain to label it, as well as write down the source of your photo (either the URL for the Website where you found it or the publishing date for the magazine issue.)
On the same sheet of paper as your photo, answer each of the following questions about this national leadership team.

(1)
How many individual members make up the President’s Cabinet?

(2)
What are their individual titles and names?
(3)
What unique role does each contribute to the shared goal of leading a nation?

On the linked print-out sheet, identify the members of a national leadership team and explain their roles.

Prior Life Experiences Exercise 2:
Roles on a Sports Team
Find a photograph of your favorite local, college, or professional sports team. (You may have a photo already, or you may want to search on the Web and print a photo or look in a national sports magazine.) Save your photo to a new file and print it, or glue/tape it to a sheet of paper. Be certain to label it, as well as write down the source of your photo (either the date/location when a personal photo was taken, the URL for the Website where you found it, or a publishing date for the magazine issue.)
On the same sheet of paper as your photo, answer each of the following questions about this sports team.

(1)
What is the team’s name?

(2)
How many individual members make up the team?

(3)
What are their individual names and positions?
(4)
What unique role does each contribute to the shared goal of winning a game?

On the linked print-out sheet, identify the members of a sports team and explain their roles.

Prior Life Experiences Exercise 3:
Roles on a Household Team
Find a photograph of your household or family. (You may have a photo already, or you may want to take a new photo for this exercise.) Scan and save your photo to a new file and print it, or glue/tape it to a sheet of paper. Be certain to label it, as well as write down the source of your photo (the date/location when it was taken).
On the same sheet of paper as your photo, answer each of the following questions about this household team.

(1)
How many individual members make up the team?

(2)
What are their individual names and roles?
