Essentials Kits - Use boxes, book bags, plastic storage tubs (smaller ones) to pack essential items for these people to use while they are displaced wherever they are.
Kits can be packed around the following themes:
Non-Perishables - include diapers, formula, wipes, hand sanitizer, bottled water
We ask that Clover Packets and Essentials Kits are developed: Age Appropriate - (Infant - One), (2-4), (5-9), (10-14), (14-18), (Adults) Gender Specific - Male or Female
Please mark and decorate each box for the specific gender and age
We would like to ask that you recruit 4-H'ers to go door-to-door collecting these things or have your community bring these items to your 4-H Office. Schedule a time for your 4-H'ers and their friends to put these boxes together, or have your community to drop them off already packaged accordingly. We will give you 4 weeks to collect and package these items so act NOW. We will declare October 8 as 4-H Helpful Hands, Healing Hearts Day and will send a truck to pick up supplies at a specific location in your area. We would like to ask that you work with your 4-H Volunteers and 4-H'ers to be present with you at the pick-up site so they can help load the supplies into the trucks. We will potentially have 2 trucks start on each part of the state. Please contact Shannon McCollum by September 9 if you are going to participate and estimate how many boxes you will have. We will communicate pick up point and times soon.
