The Children's Defense Fund works to educate the nation about the needs of children and encourage preventive investment in children. In addition to fantastic projects and publications, the Children's Defense Fund Update E-mail Network is available to child advocates, policymakers, community leaders, service providers, religious leaders, and others interested in receiving regular updates and information on children's issues via e-mail.

Stand For Children is a national organization helping grassroots children's activists build Children's Action Teams, which improve children's lives through successful policy change, awareness-raising, and service initiatives.

The Child Care Bureau was established in the Administration for Children and Families, Department of Health and Human Services, in January 1995, to administer federal child care programs to states, territories, and tribes for low-income children and families. The Bureau has initiated a variety of activities to improve the quality, availability, and affordability of child care across the country. Among those activities is the sponsorship of the National Child Care Information Center. The Child Care Bureau administers the Child Care and Development Block Grant program and provides technical assistance to the nation on a variety of topics related to child care.

Children Now, recognized nationally for its policy expertise and up-to-date information on the status of children, is a nonpartisan, independent voice for children which works to translate the nation's commitment to children and families into action.
