Background

The Tar-Pam Local Watersheds Team is sponsored by the the NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program.

Local watershed plans for the Crisp Creek, Green Mill Run, Cow Swamp & Hendricks Creek watersheds were developed collaboratively from 2003-2005 with local governments, resource professionals, and other local stakeholders. This group, the Tar-Pam Local Watersheds Team, reviewed the technical work and provided suggestions and feedback throughout the planning process.

WECO coordinated public involvement during the process. BLUE: Land, Water, Infrastructure conducted the technical watershed assessment and developed the watershed plans.

As EEP begins implementing restoration projects in 2006, they will also work with WECO, the NCSU Dept. of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and the agricultural subcommittee of the watershed team to involve landowners in a demonstration restoration project within the Crisp Creek watershed.
