Extension Associate, EFNEP

Virginia provides leadership in managing the Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in Western North Carolina. She is responsible for the programmatic training and professional development of nutrition program assistants. Her duties include teaming with district and county Extension directors to recruit, hire, coach and evaluate the performance of the nutrition program assistants working in Avery, Buncombe, Clay, Henderson, Macon, Transylvania, Watauga and Yancey Counties.

Currently a member of the 4-H Youth Development and Family and Consumer Sciences Department, Virginia’s professional experience includes working as an Extension Agent, Nutrition Programs Supervisor for the N.C. Cooperative Extension Service and a Home Economist for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Virginia received a B.S. in Home Economics from California State University at Long Beach and a M.S. in Human Resources from Western Carolina University.
