Sarah D. Kirby

Associate Professor and Housing Specialist

Dr. Kirby serves as a Housing Specialist for North Carolina Cooperative Extension. Specifically, she directs the E-Conservation Consumer Energy Education program that teaches consumers to reduce home energy consumption and save money through no-and low-cost energy efficiency measures, behavioral changes and home retrofits. She is a part of the Healthy Homes Project team focused on improving the health and safety of children and their caregivers in homes by reducing housing hazards that cause injury and disease. Dr. Kirby is also actively involved in educational programs related to preparation, response and recovery after natural disasters.
