Visiting Scholar, Food Safety Education

Dr. Alani, a Visiting Scholar from Iraq, is working with Dr. Angela Fraser on several food safety projects. He provides technical support for the School HACCP project, researching and assisting in the answering of food safety questions. Dr. Alani has also reviewed and translated into Arabic a set of training aids – a 243 slide set and 14 fact sheets. Many limited-English speakers work in the U.S. foodservice industry. Training aids are often available in Spanish and sometimes Chinese. Materials are usually not available for smaller language groups, such as Arabic speakers. The training aids are available free of charge to food safety educators and are posted at: www.foodsafetysite.com/foodservice/conducting/FoodserviceManager/managers.html.
