Wayne Matthews, Ph.D., CFLE

Associate Professor, Human Development Specialist

Dr. Matthews serves as a Human Development Specialist with an emphasis on adult development and family relationships. His areas of program development and assistance include family dynamics, family strengths, dysfunctional families, family communication, stress management, self-esteem, and other family-related issues. Individual life-cycle needs are an integral part of this focus area.

Currently, two primary programming emphases for Dr. Matthews include the Workable Wellness program, a multidisciplinary wellness program conducted at worksites, and Essential Life Skills for Military Families.

Additionally, Dr. Matthews teaches in the Family Life & Parent Education graduate degree program, presents at state, regional, and national professional meetings, and serves as the Grievance Coordinator for Extension County Operations.
