This page contains a link to an application that can help you, the homeowner, determine how much fertilizer is needed for your lawn or garden. Two numbers are needed in order to make this calculation: the number of pounds per 1000 square feet of fertilizer recommended by your soil test report and the total square footage of your yard or garden.
The calculator will ask for the pounds of fertilizer, per 1000 square feet, which your soil test recommends and the total area, in square feet, to be fertilized. For example: the report recommends 15 pounds of 10-10-10 per 1000 square feet and the area to be fertilized is 10,000 square feet. Click in the field beside "Pounds of fertilizer..." and type the number "15". Click in the field beside "Square footage.." and type the number "10000" (no commas). Click on the calculate button and the result "150" should appear in the last field, below the calculator.
After you make a calculation, you can make more by clicking on the reset button and typing in new numbers.
