This is the reproductive flying form of termites that you may see swarming around the home. They are 3/8" to 1/4" long with an unconstricted waist. Flying ants are often mistaken for termites...but the ants have a distinct 3 sectioned ant shape. If you find these insects swarming in a structure, you should consider have a termite inspection done professionally.
