The Chatham County 4-H Talent Show will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 6:30 in
the Chatham County Agriculture Building auditorium.
Please return the entry form by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9. Those who do not
pre-register will be unable to perform in this year's Talent Show.
There will be a junior (9-10)(11-12) and senior (13-19) division. The following talents are
suitable:
Individual Participation
Vocal Solo, Instrumental Solo -- Guitar, Piano, et cetera, Dancing -- Tap, Ballet, et cetera,
Novelty -- Puppetry, Animal Act, Acrobatics, Ventriloquist, Baton Twirling, Impersonations,
et cetera, Humorous Reading or Recitation
Group Participation
Vocal -- Duet, Trio, Quartet, Chorus, Instrumental -- Band, etcetera, Dancing -- Folk,
Square, etcetera, Novelty -- Puppetry, Animal Act, Acrobatics, et cetera, Skit.
The 4-H Office will have a tape player; however, the youth must provide any other equipment
needed for their performance.

Participants must be 9 through 19
as of January 1, 2001.
Ages 5-8 may participate receiving participation ribbon Awards:
Each Age
Division: 9-10, 11-12, & 13-19
First Place ------ Trophy & $100 Saving Bond
Second Place ----- Trophy & $75 Saving Bond
Third Place ------ Trophy & $50 Saving Bond

BOYS & GIRLS AGES 6-12
4-H MEMBERSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED
CAMP SESSIONS: Monday-Friday CAMP HOURS: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
LUNCH:CAMPERS MUST BRING THEIR LUNCH EACH DAY!!!!!!!
COST: ADVANCE $65.00 PER PERSON PER CAMP WEEK DUE BY
March 30.
AFTER SUNDAY, APRIL 1, CAMP FEE WILL BE $75.00 PER CAMPER
PER CAMP WEEK Camp fee is nonrefundable. Includes snacks, insurance, &
transportation.
WHERE: Vista Point Group Camping Area, SR1700 on Jordan Lake
ENROLLMENT: Enrollment limited to 60 campers per camp session/week.
PROGRAMS: Crafts, Electrical Project, Forestry, Wildlife, Environmental
Education, and Recreational Games.
SWIMMING: Recreational swimming everyday. Camp lifeguard on duty. Campers rotate to
swimming in small groups with staff member supervising each group.
GROUPS: Campers divided into groups by age. Groups rotate to all activities.
TRANSPORTATION: BUS TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED AT PICKUP

COST OF CAMP: $225.00 (a $50 nonrefundable deposit will reserve a space at camp)

PROGRAM: Swimming, Environmental Education, Canoeing, Ropes Course, Carnival,

Leaders, teachers, parents, or adults may attend 4-H Camp free!

should have current shots and must be confined during the meeting, when not being exhibited
by the owner. All parents and leaders will hold a short meeting in the Conference Room.

Date-27-29-Cumulative Record Judging
Winterfest was held on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Sandhills Community College.
Those attending: Stefanie Jeremiah, Vanessa Moreland, Erin Lindsay, Brittany Lindsay,
Jon Sumrell, Margo Stout, Rachel Levy-Thomas, Horton Thompson, Roby Moreland, Jessica
Townsend, Melanie Cross, Ashlee Knight, Julia Austin and Paulette Thomas.
Please attend the next County Council Meeting to get a report on workshops they attended
and learn about the State Project and making scrapbooks. All enjoyed bowling and the game
rooms at the local bowling alley before returning home. Many thanks to Julia Austin for
driving the activity bus.
