"Clover" the Official 1999 NC 4-H Bear

A form is attached for anyone who would like to order one of the Official 1999 North Carolina 4-H Bears. This is a fund raiser for the NC 4-H Development Fund. The bears are numbered, limited edition green bears with 1999 on the bottom of the right foot and 4-H clover over the heart. There will also be a white bear with 2000 on his foot to be released this coming spring, 2000. Orders for "Clover" will be filled on a first come, first served basis and there is a limit of 10 bears per customer.

Clover Courtyard and Walkway

The eastern 4-H Environmental Education Center is now being constructed in Northeastern North Carolina and will include a special place called the Clover Courtyard and Walkway. A gift of $100 or more to the Clover Courtyard and Walkway entitles you to sponsor an engraved brick. 4-H clubs could honor their leaders, parents could honor their 4- H'ers, 4-H'ers could honor their parents, etc. etc. The state 4-H Council has adopted this project as part of the State Council project. They have set a minimum goal of 10 bricks/count. There is a need for a couple of 4-H'ers in each county to coordinate the effort. If you have youth that need a leadership opportunity, perhaps they would like to help coordinate this effort in Chatham County. If so, please call the 4-H office at 542-8202. The top five participating counties (those that sell the most bricks) will be recognized with a permanent plaque at the 4-H Environmental Education Conference Center. All counties that sell a minimum of 10 bricks will be recognized on a permanent plaque as well and will be invited to the Courtyard and Walkway Dedication.
