Prices have been averaged among vendors and among retailers. Prices subject to fluctuation without notice. Some units are subjective. For example, "bunch" size may vary among vendors.

Price data was collected from 6 grocery retailers in Chatham, Lee, and Orange counties. The majority of produce sold at retailers is typically not locally grown.

Price data collected from vendors at the Pittsboro Farmers' Market and Fearrington Farmers' Market in Chatham County. These are "growers only" markets - all produce is grown by the vendor.

Price data collected from vendors at the Carrboro Farmers' Market in Orange County. This is a "growers only" market - all produce is grown by the vendor.

There is no consistent "salad mix" product - mixtures may include a variety of different lettuces, greens, edible flowers, etc., and this is reflected in the range of prices among vendors.
