The new North Hills Farmers' Market opened in May 2008 in the - you guessed it - North Hills development off of Six Forks Rd. in Raleigh.

This market is an example of the new wave of "sponsored" markets that are starting to pop up around the Triangle. North Hills is sponsored by North Hills developer Kane Realty Corporation.

The market is open on Saturdays from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm from April through early October. This is a "producer only" market and features locally grown items.

Other Triangle Area "Growers' Only" Markets

The vendors set up in the Commons area around Starbucks and Ben & Jerry's. The U-shaped road is closed to vehicle traffic during the market. Kane Realty supplies the vendor canopies.

Several Chatham County farms are members of the market. Here Norma Burns of Bluebird Hill Farm talks with a customer about the lovely value-added herbal products she handcrafts.

Jason and Haruka Oatis of Edible Earthscape Farm in Moncure grow a wide variety of Asian vegetables and herbs.

Straight ahead on the other side of the tent is the grassy commons area which is directly behind the Starbucks. The market sometimes features live music in the Commons.

Fleming Pfann's daughter Leah Peace peddles ever-popular Celebrity Dairy goat cheese products to enthusiastic customers.
