Bear Creek, NC

Clusters of ripening tomatoes show a beautiful symmetry on the vine at Sunny Slope Greenhouses near Bear Creek in Chatham County. Jim and David have 56 years of greenhouse tomato production experience between them. They are on the leading edge of greenhouse tomato production in North Carolina, and were among the first to use beneficial insects in the greenhouse to control pests in this crop. Sunny Slope tomatoes are produced in Chatham County soils, unlike most greenhouse tomatoes which are grown hydroponically in sterile soilless mixes. Many of their customers feel this gives the tomatoes their wonderful flavor!
