Winter Production
|
|||
An increasing number of Chatham County farmers are extending their production season into the winter months to meet the demand for locally grown food. Here is a snapshot of a greenhouse tomato grower and the weekly winter mini-farmers' market at Angelina's Kitchen on Thursday evenings in Pittsboro. Vendors include Screech Owl Greenhouses (lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, herbs), Lilly Den Farm (pasture-raised beef, pork, veal, lamb, goat, and poultry), and Poverty Hollow Farm (baked and canned goods).
