Coyotes

Losses to coyotes can be reduced by herding livestock into pens at night and using electric fences. Conduct lambing, kidding and calving inside a shed. Remove any carrion to help reduce the food supply. Use guard dog, donkey or llamas. Strobe lights, sirens propane cannons and other scare devices may reduce predation by coyotes. Trapping and shooting will help control coyotes. In North Carolina there is an open season on coyotes.
