Responsible for public education in urban horticulture. This includes management of home lawns, landscape plantings, fruit and vegetable gardens and shade trees. Program efforts involve lecturing, writing newspaper articles and newsletters, and recording radio programs in addition to diagnosing plant disease, insect and cultural problems and helping gardeners find environmentally responsible solutions. Also teach and coordinate the Buncombe County Extension Master Gardener program.
