1999 NCEAFCS PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAM OF WORK & REPORT

OBJECTIVES:

I. Perform all duties of the office of the President in the event of absence, disability, or at the request of the President and the President-Elect.

II. Chair and serve as liaison between the Public Affairs Committee and the Executive Board.

III. Coordinate the committee to develop and implement an action plan which addresses issues related to external communications, coalition building, public policy educational funding opportunities, as defined by the Executive Board.

IV. To promote the importance of and the participation in marketing the profession, utilizing the media and supporting awards programs relating to Family and Consumer Issues and Public Policy Education.

PLAN OF ACTION:

I. Responsibilities of the Public Affairs Committee:

A. Maintain a current Program of Work Notebook/Filing System that can be updated and transferred each year to the incoming Vice President of Public Affairs.

B. Inform members of due dates regarding Program of Work and Annual Reports:

September 1 - State Program of Work Reports due to be posted via Enews.
July 1 -District Annual Reports due to State Chairs.
August 1 - State Annual Reports due to be posted via E-news.

C. Collect all (8) Program of Work/Annual Reports from the officers/committee chairs and record in the filing system.

II. Responsibilities of the Public Affairs Committee State Chair:

A. At State Meeting, facilitate the Program of Work Training for Incoming Officers.

B. Serve as North Carolina Delegate at the National Public Issues/Leadership Development Conference in Washington, D.C.
