NCACES EXTENSION EDUCATION AWARDS Nominating someone for the award is easy. Download the nomination form (PDF or Word) and submit it today. PURPOSE: NCACES Extension Education Awards recognize members of the North Carolina Association of Cooperative Extension Specialists who develop and deliver outstanding Extension Education Programs. Specific program components may include staff development activities, demonstrations, tours, displays, videos, software programs, special publications, or other innovative delivery methods. Past winners. NOMINATION: Awards nominees and nominators must be active members of NCACES. Members of the Award Committee are eligible, but cannot participate in judging their own program(s). Each nomination must include the attached nomination form (two pages) and a separate cover letter (one page limit). Nomination cover letters may be signed by more than one NCACES member. Self nominations are acceptable. Programs described and/or materials must have been produced or received by the intended audience within the past three years. EVALUATION: Each nomination will be evaluated by the Award Committee for creativity and effectiveness in the use of resources and delivery methods, cooperation with outside groups, and success in meeting clearly defined objectives. Evaluation will focus on specific and distinctive programs, as well as on overall Extension excellence. Award Committee members will score each nomination according to a Nomination Evaluation Form. (PDF or Word) Cumulative scores of the committee members will be used to select up to three Award recipients; 1) Outstanding Specialist in supporting county programs; 2) Outstanding Subject Matter Program developed by an Individual, 3) Outstanding Subject Matter Program Developed by a Team. AWARDS: Nominations will be received by the Award Committee January through the last work day of the week of April 7th of each year. The Award Committee will select award recipients to be recognized at the NCACES Annual Meeting in May. Each award recipient will receive a certificate. Award recipients will be recognized on a permanent wall plaque in Ricks Hall on the NCSU Campus. AWARD COMMITTEE: The Award Committee will be selected by the NCACES Board of Directors. The NCACES Board will make the final selection of NCACES Award winners after reviewing and considering the recommendations of a Award Committee. That Award Committee will be composed of the following: the NCACES Past President, one Board Member, and the winners of the previous year's awards who agree to serve on the committee. The Award Committee uses an evaluation form to select award recipients. | |
