Meeting was called to order by Spring Williams, President, at 1:15pm and welcomed the members.
Minutes - Kyleen Burgess
The minutes for the closing business meeting held in August of 2005 are posted
on the internet, motion made to dismiss the reading of the minutes by Barb Dunn
Swanson, seconded by Dale Safrit. Minutes stand approved as read on the internet.
Treasurer's Report - Wallace Simmons
Operating Budget - $8,840.91
Enrichment Budget - $2,282.79
Money Market Shares - $1,199.15
Shares - $42.60
-Plans on combining the two share accounts if the bank will allow, so we have
one money market share account
REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES
Annual Conference - Crystal Smith
-Meet in Room 148
-Roshunda - Annual Conference August 16 - 18, 2006 in Pinehurst, NC. There will
be an opening pool party
Constitution - Nelson McCaskill
-Will meet in room 209
Diversity - Juanita Bailey
-Meeting in room 216
Finance - Wallace
-Room 208
Membership - Rebecca Liverman
-Will have 2 new member orientations, one at Winter Board and one at State Conference.
-4 DSA and 4 ASA Slots. We have 151 members for DSA/ASA status, however we have
154 total members.
-The association had to front money for 26 (10 individuals & 1 District)
people that did not pay, this totaled $2,265.
-Urged the membership to work harder so that this does not happen again.
-The committee will look at policy on late fees for those who do not pay on
time.
-Discussion followed as to why the Association fronted the money, the President
made this decision to front the money so we could reach our DSA/ASA mark.
-The Association will charge a late fee to the DISTRICT if the deadline is not
met.
Nominating - Peggie Lewis
-Peggie and members will be asking for people to fill the following positions:
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and President Elect.
-Please have every district represented at the committee meeting.

Professional Development - Dale Safrit
-Will be reviewing 3 applications for Chester Black and one for the national
Scholarship.
Programs - Shea Ann DeJarnette
-Working on getting power points in place of the share fair. This CD of presentations
will be given to each district.
Public Relations &Information -Lori McBryde
-Meeting in the Ivey Room
-Traivs Burke solicited new members for PR&I.
-Will be working on first timer's functions/orientation for new members about
the roles in the association.
-Stressed the importance of working with new agents.
Rapport - Julie Jones
-Next deadline is Feb. 1, 2006 to Julie Jones
-Encouraged members to write for Rapport
Recognition - Janine Rywak
-Will meet in 204
-59 total award applications this year
6 Service Awards, 3 Specialty Awards, 31 Communicator Awards, 19 NC Awards

-Will discuss about when we would like to announce the awards in the committee
meeting.
-Will discuss pulling applications, in which individuals have not paid.
Historian - Richard Freeman
-Passed out a list to the board for items to be archived
-Items for the archive need to be placed in manila folders
-Encouraged all to submit information
DISTRICT REPORTS
North Central - Jennifer Brewer
-Had a meeting back in November, had a workshop on Time and Stress management
-Granville and Wake County positions still open
-Passed out copies of Evaluation book to all counties in district
Northeast - Laurie Lewis
-Worked hard to plan a meeting, asked everyone to attend
-Introduced Ginger Morelock as the new agent in Chowan County
-Pitt County interviews will take place
-Pasquotank County is open
-Missy Jones gave birth to Baby Eve Elizabeth
-Natalie will be having a baby, she is due July
-Lee Scripture's wife is due in March
Northwest - Barb Swanson
-Met in December in Alamance County
-Kay Cole will be retiring. Will have a retirement gathering on Jan 26 from
3-5 in Alamance.
-Stokes County will have a new agent on Feb 1.
-Offering a professional development workshop on Science on April 3 - 5, 2006
at Betsy Jeff Penn. The workshops will have many dimensions on Science education.
Flyers were passed out with information. Registration fee of $150.
South Central - Roshunda Blount
-Met in November did a planning meeting for Annual Conference.
-You can only have two people to a room for Annual Conference.
Southeast - Patricia Cahoon
-Science retreat next week for their districts
-Mandy Barnes is the new agent in Wayne County.
-Pender County - Amanda Hatcher is having a baby
Southwest - Donna Mull
-met twice - Oct. and Dec. and will meet in March
-2 babies down and one on the way
West - Karee Mackey
-Mitchell County has a new agent - Morgan Gibson
-Heather James, Cherokee Reservation, is pregnant
-Had curriculum update and will have a science update
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Federation Report - Natalie Rountree
-Universities recognized with plaques for all the hard work that they did to
get agents pay raises across the state
-A&T shared the restructure program
-eXtension will be launched publicly in the coming year, encouraged everyone
to view the site
-The Dole Biotech Center was talked about
-The Board meeting for Federation in March will focus in on what Federation
can do go back to its roots and support associations
Development Fund Raffle - Spring
-You can buy Cruise Tickets for Feb 1
Enrichment Fund Request - Spring
-Letters have not been sent to districts to solicit Enrichment fund support
NEW BUSINESS
Enrichment Fund Update - Jackie Helton and Sharon Rowland
-$86,519.80 currently in the Endowment fund
-Set a challenge so that in the future the Association can assist members as
it has done in the past
-Checks should be made out to the NC 4-H Development Fund
-Peggie challenged the membership to write checks to the Development Fund
-Pledge forms were passed out
Silent Auction - Natalie Rountree
-Winners from the Auction held during lunch were announced, proceeds from the
auctions go to the Enrichment Fund
-There will be a Silent Auction tonight during the evening activities
4-H Gala - Jackie Helton
-March 23 - Will be at the Grandover Resort, in Winston Salem
-Chair is from Wachovia
-Lots of fundraising going on
- an online auction will take place on E-Bay
-Silent Auction will still take place
-If you have ideas for exhibits, talent and such please let those involved know
Southern Region Director Update - Carolyn Langely
-Nothing to report, JCEP is in two weeks
-We are pleased to have a Southern Region Director
