North Central News

We have had an abundance of good news in the North Central District this summer with the birth of John David Riley McBryde III on September 14th to Lori and John McBryde, of Johnston County. Also, we welcomed Caleb Allen Heath on September 8th to Tanya and Cranford Heath, of Wilson County. We also had some great news from Nina Crawford, Wake County, who was married on June, 11th to Layton Bostic. Nina has decided to pursue her college degree full time and resigned from Wake County 4-H on August 12th. We wish all these ladies the best in their new adventures!

South Central News

Colby and Lynn Lambert are the new proud parents of a beautiful baby boy. Matthew Paul Lambert was born on June 25th at 7:16 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. All of the members of the Lambert family are doing great. Lynn says that now "He is full of gummy smiles and sweet little coos. He is now just the right size to cuddle up with a take a good nap. He is my little teddy bear. Motherhood is wonderful." Lynn returned back to work on September 19th. Welcome back Lynn and congratulations on your new bundle of joy!



Congratulations to all the SCD Agents that received awards at this year's Annual Conference. All the members of the SCD are proud of you.

A huge thank you and a job well done goes out to the Southeast District for hosting this year's annual conference. The conference and workshops were wonderful and having an afternoon at the beach was perfect! Thanks for all of you hard work in planning and executing this event.

Northwest News

Congratulations to all the NWD Agents that received awards at this year's Annual Conference. All the members of the NWD are proud of you.

Congratulations goes to Morgan Crouse on her marriage to Chad Maness on June 4th. Morgan and Chad were married in McLeansville, North Carolina. Congratulations and best wishes to Morgan and Chad!

Congratulations goes to Sarah Featherstone and husband on their upcoming arrival. Sarah and her husband will be having a little girl around February 14th. We wish mother and baby continued health.


Southwest News

The Southwest District 4-H Agents Association met on September 16 at Lake Norman State Park. A park ranger gave us a great overview of the programs offered at Lake Norman and other state parks. After a business meeting, a surprise diaper shower was thrown for April Dillon, Ashley Lee, and Sara West, and we enjoyed the paddle boats on the lake.

The Southwest District would like to welcome Chad Ray, the new 4-H agent in McDowell County. Chad comes to us from Craven County in the Southeast District. Chad graduated from Appalachian State University in December of 2003. He is originally from Burnsville, North Carolina. Chad has been a camp counselor at Swannanoa for two years.

The Southwest district is happy to announce to arrival of Elijah Braxton West, son of Sara and Ryan West, born October 7, 2005. Eli weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 21 inches long. We welcome Eli to the Extension family!


Southeast News

The Southeast District is pleased to annouce that Angela Harris became 4-H agent for Greene County in March 2005. Before becoming an agent, Angela worked four years as Coordinator for Smart Start Parents as Teachers Program.

Angela is a 2000 Graduate of East Carolina University, with a BS Degree in History and a double minor of Child Development and Family Relations and Elementary Education. She is currently working towards a Graduate
Degree in Adult Education. Projected graduation date is December 2006.

Angela is married to Allan Harris and they have a beautiful daughter, Abbe Bernice.

She enjoys working with youth, spending time with family and friends, volunteering, playing with her daughter, and participating in community events.

The Southeast District will hold their fall meeting on November 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Duplin County.

Northeast News

Congratulations goes to Cameron Lowe, Pasquotank County 4-H Agent, on the birth of a baby girl, Cayden Faith, on July 30, 2005. Cameron has since resigned from Extension and is currently working for Currituck County Public Schools as a middle school technology teacher.

Congratulations goes to Kyleen Michael (Burgess), Northampton 4-H Agent, was married on September 24, 2005 at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC.
