My name is Karee Mackey. I want to serve as Vice President of our Association in order to be a team member of NCAE4-HA, to offer my talents and skills to the organization, to help meet the needs of the association and association members, and to learn from other Extension agents and grow professionally. Serving as vice-president will also be useful as I serve as district President the upcoming year.

I have been in my position as 4-H agent in Watauga County since 1996 and enjoy producing creative programs for kids . I have served in our district 4-H agents association as treasurer and am currently president elect. I have served on various Association committees, such as the State Program Committee and State Finance Committee. I enjoy meeting people across the state and learning about the great things they are doing in their counties. In 2001, I was awarded the Excellence in Teen Programming. I am also a member of Epsilon Sigma Phi.

I enjoy living in beautiful Boone. In my free time, I chase around my 8 year old son and enjoy the outdoors and reading. I have a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and a master's degree in Human Development and Psychological Counseling. Some people wonder how that relates to Extension, but the ability to look at issues from a broad perspective and having people skills are great assets to my job!
