North Central District
NEW AGENT! We are excited to announce that we have a new 4-H agent in Vance County. Ms. Sha Bailey joined us on April 1st, 2005. She joins us from the Vance County School system where she taught middle school science. Sha is a graduate of East Carolina University with a BA in Chemistry. Please e-mail Sha, sha_bailey@ncsu.edu , and welcome her to NC 4-H! We are sad to have lost a great Warren County 4-H Agent, Miss Tammy Boyd to the South East District. We wish her all the best in Craven County! Kudos to Harriett Edwards and all the 4-H Volunteers from around the state that made the new 4-H Volunteer Cookbook possible. We just love it here in the NCD! Wedding News! Nina Crawford, Wake County 4-H Agent, is engaged to be married to Leighton Bostic on June 11th in Benson, NC. Congratulations to the bride to be! South Central District The South Central District 4-H Agents met on Friday, April 8th in Moore County. We began making plans for the 2006 NCAE4-HA conference. Many different options were explored and committees were set up. The meeting concluded with Krista Hancock speaking about the NASA/Explorer Institute and a NASA/4-H program The South Central District is happy to announce to arrival of Peyton Asher Graham son of Cathy and Vincent Graham, born April 12, 2005. Peyton weighed 9 lbs 12 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long. We welcome Peyton to the Extension family!
We have two engagements to celebrate in the South Central District. Angela Redinger, Bladen County, is engaged to be married to Scott Shaver. Scott works with Murphy-Brown, Rose Hill Division and is a 4-H youth livestock volunteer. The couple is making plans for December nuptials and after the wedding they plan to continue living in Elizabethtown. Congratulations Angela & Scott!
Sarah Hardison, Chatham County, is engaged to marry Randy Kotzian, who is orginally from Currituck County. They are both graduates of NC State (Randy-2000, Sarah-2003). Randy works for the Department of Food Science at NC State. Randy proposed to Sarah on March 27, 2005 and the wedding is set for April 29, 2006 in Buies Creek, NC. Congratualations!
Northwest District The Northwest District held a 4-H Agent and Program Associate meeting in Davidson County on March 22nd. The purpose of this meeting was to address issues facing 4-H professionals and to learn about program opportunities from each county. This meeting produced a lot of important issues and ideas for addressing those issues. The Northwest 4-H Agents will be meeting on April 26th in Forsyth County for their next meeting. At this meeting, videotapes of the State 4-H Leader interviews will be viewed and comments mailed to Raleigh. Southwest District The South West District Agents met Thursday, April 28 in Gaston County to review video tapes of the State 4-H Leader seminars. The group met again on Friday, May 27 in Cabarrus County for the quarterly district meeting. West District The West District welcomes Heather Gordon as the new 4-H Agent in Jackson County. Heather comes to 4-H with much experience in the youth camping arena. Welcome, Heather! |
