Module 14:

Eat Smart, Stay Well: It Could Be Salt's Fault


Overview:

This module discusses the relationship between sodium and hypertension and identifies sources of sodium in the diet and ways to reduce sodium in the diet to delay, decrease or control chronic disease.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will show knowledge change by demonstrating one of the following as a result of participating in this module:

Session 1: Discussing the relationship between sodium and hypertension.
Session 2: Identifying at least one source of sodium in the diet.
Session 3: Identifying at least one way to reduce the amount of sodium in their diet.
Session 4: Developing a personal plan (ways) to lower their nutritional risk.

Participants will show behavior change by demonstrating one of the following as a result of participating in this module:Module 14
  • How they have assumed responsibility for their own health and nutritional needs.
  • How they have completed their personal plan to lower their health and nutritional risk.
  • How they have carried out their personal plan to lower their nutritional risk.
