Overview:
This module discusses the benefits of consuming a diet that is low in saturated fat (solid fat), trans fat, and cholesterol and moderate in total fat to prevent, delay or control chronic disease.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will show knowledge change by demonstrating one of the following as a result of participating in this module:

Discussing the benefits of consuming a diet that is low in saturated fat (solid fat), trans fat and/or cholesterol and moderate in total fat as a goal in promoting good health. |
| Session 2: |
Discussing the roles that cholesterol and fat play in heart disease.
Identifying at least one source of saturated fat (solid fat), trans fat and cholesterol in the diet. |
| Session 3: |
Describing at least two ways to reduce saturated fat (solid fat) and/or trans fat and moderate total fat in the diet. |
| Session 4: |
Identifying at least one method of modifying recipes to include less fat. |
| Session 5: |
Writing their personal plan to lower their nutritional risk. |
Participants will show behavior change by demonstrating one of the following as a result of participating in this module:
- How they have assumed responsibility for their own health and nutritional needs.
- How they have completed their personal plan to lower their health and nutritional risk.
