Job Responsibilities/RequirementsCounty Extension Director This position provides administrative and supervisory leadership for the development, organization and implementation of an effective total Extension program in agriculture, family & consumer education, 4-H, and community and rural development to meet the needs of the people in the county. The Director has program responsibility in assigned areas. An individual is eligible for consideration for appointment as County Extension Director after completing four years of successful Cooperative Extension Service experience and demonstrated effective leadership skills as an Extension professional. A Master's degree is required. Area Specialized Agent This position has primary responsibility for planning, executing, and evaluating extension programs within the assigned area of program responsibility in multiple counties (typically three or more counties). When appropriate, the Area Specialized Agent will work closely with other county agents. Applicants should have a high degree of knowledge in the assigned area of responsibility and a Masters degree, with three years of extension or related experience preferred. Area Agent This position has primary responsibility for planning, executing, and evaluating extension programs within the assigned area of program responsibility in multiple counties (typically two or three counties). Applicants should have a high degree of knowledge in the assigned area of responsibility and a Bachelor's degree. Extension Agent, Agriculture This position provides leadership for the development and implementation of an effective educational program within assigned areas of agricultural responsibility and related areas to meet the needs of the county population. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree with an agriculture related concentration or agricultural education. A Master's degree is preferred. Significant course work in the area of responsibility listed is preferred. Extension Agent, Family & Consumer Sciences This position provides leadership for the development and implementation of an effective educational program within assigned areas of family and consumer education and related areas to meet the needs of the county population. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree with a home economics/human ecology related concentration or family & consumer sciences education. A Master's degree is preferred. Significant course work in the area of responsibility listed is preferred. Extension Agent, 4-H and Youth Development This position provides leadership for the development, organization and implementation of effective 4-H programs that will meet the needs of the county population. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in home economics/family & consumer sciences, agriculture, related behavioral sciences, or education. A Master's degree is preferred. Extension Agent, Community Development This position provides leadership for development and implementation of effective educational programs which address community issues and rural development concerns. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in social, political, or environmental science. A Master's degree is preferred.
