Application information is entered online by the county 4-H staff and may have a due date that is earlier than the state 4-H due date for all awards and incentive applications. Check with the 4-H agent.

ARIE – APPLICATION RESUME INTERVIEW ESSAY
Application, Resume, Interview and Essay (ARIE) is a process that gives 4-Hers the opportunity to be selected to attend national events such as National Congress, National Conference or International Leadership Conference. Age is determined by youth’s age as of January 1 of the current year. All applications must be in Pitt County 4-H office by May 10 in order to meet the state deadline of May 15, unless that date is a weekend, then applications are due the following Monday. Forms hand delivered to the state 4-H office in Raleigh, must arrive by 4:30 PM of the same day. Links to the new forms and information are listed below.
To prepare Pitt County 4-Hers applying for ARIE, mock interviews will be held in the Extension office before the state interviews, scheduled to take place at NC 4-H Congress on the third Monday in July at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh. You will receive notification of the room location and structure of the day after the state schedule is completed.
Each applicant must submit ONE original and TWO copies of the application and resume in a handwritten or typed format.
The ARIE Program Packet contains the following:

2. Support materials and example of a “Personal Essay”
3. Support Materials for Resume submission (Functional, Chronological & Combination)
4. Support materials for the Interview (sample questions, dos & don’ts, etc.)
5. Support materials for the “Process of the Actual Interview during NC 4-H Congress”
6. ‘Question Pool’ for the Fishbowl component
7. Rubrics for all components ( Interview, Resume, Essay)
